05 — Learn
Learn the engineering behind a life that compounds.
We built Capital in the Wild, Beyond Survival and Built Together to answer problems in our own lives. We can teach more than the finished systems: the reasoning that took us from a real constraint to a model, an investigation and an engineered response.
The lessons are organised by problem and dependency, not by the chronological order of every experiment and rebuild. Significant dead ends appear where they clarify why the current design exists.
The common teaching structure
Each module examines the problem, constraints, candidate solutions, engineering reasoning, actual construction, observations and remaining questions. Learners can interrogate the decisions and evidence without being prescribed a version of our life.
Four learning areas
Foundations — Surplus & Time
- The maintenance trap: why trying harder is sometimes insufficient.
- Survival, surplus, preservation, optionality and compounding.
- How to investigate a system instead of assuming the answer.
- How to reconstruct engineering reasoning from a messy development history.
Capital in the Wild — financial engineering
- Why separating labour from income led us to investigate systematic trading.
- Data engineering, contract continuity and the limits of backtests.
- Portfolio construction, operational reliability and holding returns through losses.
- What the system can demonstrate, and what it cannot promise.

Beyond Survival — biological investigation
- Why the disappearance of a demand may not end a mobilised state.
- How our State Transition Model developed and what remains hypothetical.
- Why we selected physical and rhythmic interventions to investigate.
- Helix, measurement, confounders and interpreting results.

Built Together — relational practice
- Why time together does not automatically build trust.
- Transparent disclosure and non-reactivity in intimacy.
- Deliberate practice, feedback, repair and the limits of one person's control.

Intended format: live modules, not open-ended prescriptions
The initial proposal is structured, instructor-led teaching over video calls. A module would have a defined subject, outline, examples, discussion and scope. Students would purchase the teaching of a specific topic, not an individual financial plan, health treatment or promise of relationship outcomes.
Course dates, prices and a booking service have not yet been configured. The learning areas above describe the proposed catalogue, not currently purchasable courses.
In time, repeatable lessons may also become self-directed materials. That transition should follow what actually proves useful in live teaching, rather than require us to construct a complete course platform first.
